Large retailer seeks a bright, energetic associate-level graphics/CAD accessories designer with a very strong sense of print and color.

Must be available for a long-term freelance opportunity on-site Monday through Friday.

$20-25/hr Depending on Experience

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Extremely strong Photoshop and Illustrator skills
• Ability to create graphics, embroideries, and all overprints for accessories.

• Knowledge and experience working in textile and yarn research as it relates to garment development.
• Knowledge and experience working with pattern makers, sample makers, technical designers.
• Knowledge and experience with CAD design.
• Good written and verbal presentation skills.
• Ability to articulate and sell an idea.

• Work with the design team to help execute seasonal collections
• Create computer generated prints: create repeats from existing artwork, generate new print artwork and recolor prints.
• Create computer generated knits: knit stitches intarsia, fair isles, marled, and crotchet stitches.
• Create and maintain seasonal color palette and match to color printer.
• Create computer generated graphic layouts: create layouts with filled flats placements, printed graphics, embroideries, seasonal inspiration handouts, logos, hangtags, letterheads, etc.
• Create systems to quickly search for and resolve recurring issues.
• Support the CAD development process by providing user testing and pilot coordination.

• AS or BA from Art and Design college; preferred major - textile designer comparable experience
• Proficient in the following: Illustrator, Photoshop, Kaledo
• Management experienced required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; able to build relationships and contribute in a team setting.
• Self motivated and able to work independently.
• Understanding of database architecture and network topology.
• The aptitude and ability to learn new programming skills while on the job.
